RECLAIMING YOU POWER

“Be not the slave of your past - plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep, and swim far, so you shall come back with new self-respect, with new power, and with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson. Power is the possession and control of authority over one's self or someone else. Power can also be defined as influencing others. We sometimes deny ourselves power by giving power to others who are not worthy of it. The effect a person or individual has over you is based on the level of power they inherit from you, which is your power.

GIVING AWAY YOUR POWER

You tend to give your power away when you depend on others. People often rely on others to validate or regulate their feelings, when they have emotionally invested in words/ outside circumstances of others. The mistake a lot of us make validating other's inconsequential opinions is more detrimental to their being instead of embracing their own identity, when this happens you victimize yourself and subject to their control. At no giving time, you should allow anyone to think for you because they will define your existence and you will never feel worthy enough. You have a unique set of gifts and talents, and you are here to use them in discovering the truth about your feelings/self.

Dwelling in fear and failure will simply reduce your chance of taking action and failure is now in control as you start to create more excuses than solutions. It is easy to make excuses, this saves us from having to act, but how long will that work for you? making excuses to justify your poor behavior and decisions. If you don't play your hand the world will play it for you. You must be 10 steps ahead in approaching your problems as you would address someone else because ignoring the problem doesn't make it disappear, you are only practicing helplessness when you are incapable of identifying your mistakes.

HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR POWER

“If you aren’t creating enough new problems for yourself, then you aren’t taking enough action.” — Carol Dweck. Formulating new challenges will increase your mindset and intelligence, we can not rely on our raw talent alone to lead us to success. Individuals who are mentally developed and stable know this and invest their time and energy in manifesting new skills, solving new problems, acquiring new knowledge, and figuring out ways to enhance their lives.

Practicing self-love and self-awareness is one way to reclaiming your power, “Love is like emergency oxygen masks in an airplane: just as you must put on your mask before assisting others, you must love yourself first before you can love others.” when you love your self you don't need anyone's approval to love you. We all have a unique set of gifts and talents, and you are here to use them in discovering the truth about your feelings/self. Empowering self-awareness will cultivate a strong sense of one's self in nurturing and nourishing forgiving yourself and others.

Being mentally strong and in tune with your emotions helps with how you respond to others and their actions; when you get frustrated with things or people, you give them control. Let go of your anger and free yourself to focus on the positive things and energy around you because “You have power over your mind — not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” — Marcus Aurelius. "if you encourage the light that is already inside of you to grow and expand, it will eventually burn so brightly that others can’t help but see it, and they will want to follow your radiant example.” praise yourself with positive affirmation daily, know your worth so no one can define who you are and this is the joy of controlling your own power.
